Getting to campus
The University of Sydney is conveniently situated close to multiple public transport options. We strongly encourage using public transport to get here.
Train
The campus is accessible via two major train stations – Redfern Station (10-minute walk) and Central Station (15-minute walk) via City Road and George Street.
Public bus
Frequent buses run from Railway Square, stopping directly at our main entrances on City Road, Parramatta Road next to Victoria Park, and Parramatta Road by the Ross St Café. Please check the campus map to find the closest bus stop to your destination.
Shuttle bus
A free shuttle bus will run approximately every 20 minutes between 10 am and 5 pm, making stops around campus – including pick-ups and drop-offs at Redfern Station (“Kiss and Ride” stop on Lawson Street) and Central Station (Railway Square, George Street near the Mercure Hotel). Just look out for Community Festival signage to find your nearest stop.
Is there parking available?
Parking on-campus
On the day of the event there will be limited free all-day parking available on-campus. We recommend the Law Building Carpark and Shepherd Street Carpark for proximity to the festivities. Please note that spaces are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis. Please ensure you park in a legal space to avoid any infringement notices.
There will be a road closure around the Quadrangle all day.
Parking elsewhere
There are also external carparks, outdoor, and off-street parking options – spots are limited, and parking fees may apply.
Mobility accessibility parking
If you hold a valid NSW Mobility Parking Scheme permit, you can use the designated disabled parking bays on campus.
You can also park for free in any numbered parking bay, other than those marked with restrictions such as ‘University Owned Vehicles Only’ or ‘Loading Zone’.
Your permit must be displayed clearly at all times.
