It wouldn’t be a festival without a few treats. From free coffee and tacos to book signings, merch and surprise prizes, we’ve packed the Community Festival with freebies and giveaways to sweeten your experience. Here’s what’s on offer:
Just by checking in to the festival, you’ll be in the running to take home a set of Quad bricks, cuddly Australian animal plushie, USYD-branded hoodie, and more!
Every hour from 1 pm to 5 pm, the Festival MC will be drawing lucky winners live from the front stage. Keep an eye on your phone too - you’ll receive an SMS and/or email if your name is called so you can collect your prize.
Checking in is easy. If you’re attending sessions, you’ll be checked in as you enter. If you’re not attending sessions, scan your ticket with one of our friendly staff at the Alumni Lounge or any information points.
Foodies, this one’s for you! The first 100 registered guests to check in on the day at Melissa Leong’s talk will receive a copy of her latest book, Guts (1 copy per group registration). But that’s not all - Melissa will also stick around afterwards for a special signing and meet and greet.
Science fans, this is your chance! The first 50 registered guests to check in on the day at Dr Karl’s talk and anyone who asks a great question during the session, will take home a free copy of his latest book, A Periodic Tale: My Science Memoir! (1 copy per group registration)
Start your day with a coffee on us. When you register as a group with friends or family, you’ll unlock a free coffee voucher per person to redeem on the day. Visit the Kahawa coffee stand in the Festival Hub tent to fuel up.
As the sun sets on an incredible day, join us at the closing celebration on the Front Lawn between 4:30pm and 5:30pm where Raza Central will be serving up their famous loaded taco for free. It’s our way of saying thanks for being part of the celebration. T&C's apply
Be among the first to taste the future of food. At George Peppou’s headline session Reimagining Meat, every guest will have the opportunity to taste two complimentary canapés crafted with cultured quail. Course one features a delicate croquette filled with quail parfait, followed by sourdough topped with a smoky quail spread. This is your exclusive chance to sample world-first culinary innovation.
Get exploring! Pick up a scavenger hunt sheet from The Canopy marquee, track down the answers across the festival, then head back to The Canopy. Crack the clues and you’ll get to spin the wheel for a prize.
