Take a rare behind-the-scenes tour of the War Memorial Carillon, led by one of our University of Sydney carillonists.

Climb the tower, explore the clavier room, hear stories from the 1928 Anzac Day debut and learn how music from Bach to Beyoncé is played across 54 bronze bells.

Additional information

• Tours operate on a first‑come, first‑served basis and are limited to 26 guests.
• Meeting point will be in the Northern Vestibule (Room N280), the Quadrangle (A14), and will be identified by a sign and teardrop banner.
• Numbered tickets will be distributed at the meeting point 15 minutes before the tour commences. Tickets are limited to one per person and are required to participate.
• Please note that earlier queuing is not possible to avoid interference with preceding tours.

Accessibility information

• Due to the heritage status of the building and the location of the carillon, there are unavoidable stairs involved in the carillon tours. Compulsory staircases all have railings; the narrower staircase without railing is an optional part of the tour.
• If you have any accessibility concerns, please contact the Alumni Office in advance and we will do our best to accommodate you.
